Kela has changed its magazine for customers. The new Elämässä – Mitt i allt magazine has Finnish, Swedish and English pages.

In the beginning of the year 2009 the former Finnish magazine Kelan Sanomat and former Swedish magazine FPA-bladet were put together to form a new publication which was named Elämässä – Mitt i allt. The name means “In the middle” or “In Life”.

The magazine is published four times a year, it has a circulation of 2,7 million and it is distributed to all households in Finland. The new issue is distributed between 4th and 15th of May.

The English pages contain a short article and basic information about social security benefits available from Kela in 2009. In the current issue the article is about InTo which is the joint Kela and Finnish Tax Administration service point offering initial assistance to foreign workers coming to work in Finland. InTo is situated in the Helsinki city centre, near Kamppi metro station.

With its magazine Kela implements its legal responsibility to promote social security knowledge. The magazine is a way to reach also those people who have no access to internet. Kela´s magazine is a non-profit leaflet which doesn’t contain any advertisement so it is distributed to all households even those that have the “no advertisements” sign on the mailbox. This year the magazine is distributed by Suomen Suoramainonta Oy.
