Housing

Housing in Finland

Housing in Finland is generally new or recent, with all modern conveniences.
Housing markets are clearly differential in different parts of the country. Helsinki and other growth centers are suffering from housing shortages, high housing prices and high rents, while in most municipalities the housing markets is balanced.

Private rented accommodation can be obtained either directly from the landlord or via an estate agent. Services of estate agents are subject to a fee. Information on private rented can usually be found in e.g. newspapers and on notice boards.  It is also a good idea to ask around; talk to friends, neighbours and relatives, who may know of available housing.

One way is to check the possibilites via internet before coming to pre-visit.  Some of the websites are in English, but not all of them.
